Little Thatch is a believed to date back to 1650, is the true ‘chocolate box’ image of a typical thatched country cottage, with roses round the door and a little stream outside which even has a few resident ducks!  The front of the cottage with a clipped miniature box hedge, is a lovely place to sit and relax in the evening sun. Look across the stream and field to see the church in the centre of the conservation village of Lillingstone Lovell where very little has changed over the last 150 years or so.

The heavily beamed sitting room has very low ceilings, so you have been warned! It has an inglenook with a woodburner and a basket of logs, quarry tiled floor with a Persian rug, two small sofas, one converts to a bed for the occasional overnight guest and a reclining armchair. A small antique dining table and chairs for two. A colour television, radio, tape, CD and DVD player for your home entertainment. The front door opens straight out into the garden with views across the field to the church.

Down a couple of steps from the kitchen to the lounge is a small passage with a false door to the owner’s house and a winding, narrow staircase up to the big bedroom. It has pine furniture with a double bed with white cotton bedlinen, and lots of drawers and cupboards. You will be amazed by its height and the incredibly twisted and bowed rafters with undulating plaster which supports the thatched roof - described by one guest as made of twiglets and icing sugar!

Entering the cottage through the stable door into the kitchen you will find it fully fitted with antique pine units, a ceramic top electric cooker, washer/dryer, fridge freezer and microwave. There will be a welcome pack so you can make a cup of tea as soon as you arrive.
