Down a couple of steps from the kitchen to the lounge is a small passage with a false door to the owner’s house and a winding, narrow staircase up to the big bedroom. It has pine furniture with a double bed, and lots of drawers and cupboards.
You will be amazed by its height and the incredibly twisted and bowed rafters with undulating plaster which supports the thatched roof - described by one guest as made of twiglets and icing sugar!
